Claire’s Yoga Cabin
About Claire and her studio
Claire’s Yoga Studio, Adelaide Hills
Hi, I’m Claire and I’m so happy that you have joined me on my website. I’m passionate about teaching Yoga because I’ve experienced firsthand the many benefits of this ancient practice and it has truly transformed my life. Studying, teaching and applying the philosophy of yoga in my life is an absolute joy. I love sharing my knowledge, how to create clarity and peace of mind and the many physical benefits that yoga brings. Being part of my student’s journey on the mat when they discover that they can enjoy a life with less anxiety, manage their emotions and find joy in the simple things is where the magic is.
The yoga studio
The studio is a log cabin and this is the third time it has been repurposed, originally a local school classroom. The history of the cabin is one of education, development and fun, and its history has been continued by providing a space for yoga students to learn in a supportive, fun and caring environment. Derek my fabulous man and I built the cabin with the help of amazing friends over a period of two years. The goal was to provide students with the opportunity to enjoy time practising in this very special place in Houghton.

Yoga For Grace, Courage & Calm
My passion and enjoyment of Yoga come from the desire to live and love well and create a life that is filled with grace, courage, and calm. I love teaching and showing students it is possible to live the life you want and remain calm, centred, and courageous no matter what life throws at you.
“One of the greatest freedoms is knowing how to react to life’s journey well and with ease. “
Iyengar & Hatha Yoga Techniques
Practising Yoga makes me feel physically capable and able to move with ease and most importantly, I have a greater sense of well-being and wisdom. I was hooked right from taking my first class over 25 years ago. The more I practised Yoga, the more I recognised the benefit that it could have on those that applied its teachings in their life and I just knew I had to start teaching. I began Yoga teacher training in 2004 and have completed training in both Iyengar and Hatha styles of Yoga. As a Registered Senior Teacher with Yoga Australia, I am always studying and learning about how Yoga can be supportive to students and ultimately assist them in living a life well lived full of self-confidence, contentment and care for themselves and others.
“We humans have lost the wisdom of genuinely resting and relaxing. We worry too much. We don’t allow our bodies to heal, and we don’t allow our minds and hearts to heal”.
Thich Nhat Hanh
Over the years I’ve developed a practice and teaching style that’s accessible for all and incorporates Yoga in all its fullness. Teaching and practising Yoga is my passion and I enjoy spending time with my students who come from a diverse range of backgrounds, ages and abilities. It is such a blessing and honour to share my knowledge and curiosity of yoga and my classes come straight from the heart.
The Yoga studio is fully equipped with everything you need to relax and enjoy your class. Yoga mats, blocks, belts, bolsters and yoga chairs are provided, but you are most welcome to bring your own mats and equipment.
