Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is a fantastic low impact Yoga class suitable for all ages. It is perfect for those who have osteoporosis, chronic pain, joint stiffness, restricted mobility, such as joint replacements or those who would prefer to exercise from a chair rather than the floor. We use special Yoga chairs and classes can be taken sitting in the chair or standing using the chair for balance.
Gentle Yoga Movements
Chair Yoga contains all the elements of standard Yoga, but the poses have been adapted to ensure a wider range of people can enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of Yoga. The class is a mixture of Yoga poses, breathing techniques and meditation. The Yoga poses taught combine gentle flowing and slow mindful movements to encourage range of motion in joints and build muscle strength and joint stability. There is an emphasis on balances to keep your ankles, legs and hips steady and responsive to all your daily needs.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga classes are suitable for all ages and abilities and can be adapted to suit specific injuries and health concerns. When teaching Yoga poses, you’ll be given different options which vary in intensity, so the class is fully inclusive and personalised for all levels. You can choose how much you want to work your body, but you are encouraged to listen to your body and choose the energy and effort that feels right for you.
Yoga Poses, Breathwork & Meditation
Hatha Yoga classes contain a mixture of standing and floor-based Yoga poses and sequences. Yoga poses and movement are combined with breathing techniques and meditation to create a wonderful mind and body energy. Hatha Yoga is a great way to create flexibility, strengthen muscles, improve range of motion in joints and challenge your balance and core strength. Not only are there benefits for your body, but your quality of mind and your nervous system is given the opportunity to regulate and to settle. Learning how to regulate your emotions and calm your reactive mind is a prominent component of the principles of your practice. Becoming mindful of any given moment to keep us centred in the present, the here and now.
Movement & Meditation
Movement & Meditation is a gentle class suited to all ages and abilities. The class focuses on mindfulness and movement, with beautiful meditations spread throughout the class. The class is designed to help you relax and unwind and promote a lovely sense of peace and calm in your life. The flowing movements on the breath are interweaved through the practice to enable your body to find release and ease when learning and building up your time in meditation. Various types of meditations are taught such as candle gazing, guided visual meditation, breath focus, targeted thought-emotion practice, meta (kindness) meditation, enabling you to explore and find the shoe that best fits you for your meditation practice.
